To change the negative view of what being or becoming a “Senior” citizen is in our society today

To acquire a home based theatre to entertain, encourage and inspire Seniors and others to experience the joy of living fully each day.

 

Cherilynn Paris, Founder

Cherilynn Paris founded the original Paris Dancers in 1964, with performers ranging in ages from 18 to 28. 47 years later, she founded the new mature Paris Dancers, consisting of performers with the ages of 56 to 82.

 

Cherilynn’s mother started the Paris Dance School in 1930 and traveled with the USO during WWII. Cherilynn became director of the school in 1964 and traveled with the USO during Vietnam. She moved to Henry County in 1970 and added gymnastics, cheerleading and TKD to the school curriculum. Cherilynn originated the first Christmas Parade in Henry County in Stockbridge and it is still continuing in McDonough.

 

Through the years Cherilynn’s students have won local, state and national titles. In 1961 Cherilynn won the Miss Teenage Georgia title and 50 years later, won the title of Ms. Georgia Senior America.

 

During her career, Cherilynn has been a professional dancer, the owner and head instructor of The Paris School of Performing Arts (teaching tap, jazz, ballet, Hawaiian and Tahitian dancing and coaching dozens of medal-winning gymnastics teams), a feature Baton Twirler at college and professional athletic contests and Bowl games, the owner and head instructor of her own majorette and twirling schools, an international gold medal-winning amateur ice skater and ice dancer, and a sought-after judge in dozens of national, state and local beauty pageants and talent competitions.

 

A former Miss Teenage Atlanta, Miss Teenage Georgia, Miss Georgia Peach, Miss Atlanta Jaycee, Miss Georgia Jaycee and Miss Jantzen Swimsuit. Cherilynn has performed in and choreographed her own dance show company (The Paris Dancers) and produced numerous musicals such as Lil Abner, Oklahoma, Seven Bridges for Seven Brothers, The Wizard of Oz, etc.

 

The Paris School of Performing Arts, in existence more than seventy-fice years, over the decades, the school’s several thousand healthy and well-conditioned students have won hundreds of national, state and local individual and team awards in dance and gymnastics.

 

Several years ago, Cherilynn became an author, writing a children’s book, Randolph’s Wonderful Adventure which was published and received critical acclaim.

 

Currently, in addition to Paris Dancers and 2nd Act Performing Company, Cherilynn teaches gymnastics in Jackson, Georgia. Her team recently competed at a statewide meet in Athens, Georgia bringing home many awards
